Still working on the album. Improving a few things here and there.

Christian Andersson, who did all our previous covers and layouts, has completed most of the layout for the album. It looks fantastic! Of course, this time round the cover art itself was created by Martin Hanford (see below).

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 7th 2007

The new Metal Message compilation (vol.4) is available for purchase right here. Click here.

On the album front it's been more of the same, improving bits here and there. The layout of the CD is being arranged. We should have a finished music master by the time that's ready, which should be in around a week.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 31st 2007

Over the last week we have been re-recording a few parts on the album that we felt could be improved, and also adding some things. Over the next week we hope to have a mixdown to approve. We will keep the album and track names secret for the moment but we can say there will be 11 tracks at a running time of approx 58 minutes.

The new Metal Message compilation CD is now available featuring Forefather track "Engla Tocyme".

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 23rd 2007

Sorry for the lack of any updates for so long. Let's cut to the chase. The new album is recorded. The new abum is mixed. We are now in the process of approving this mix: listening through it and tweaking things here and there. We want everything to be as perfect as possible. I will now make an effort to post an update every week on progress.

THURSDAY, JUNE 21st 2007

The recording of our new album is in the final stages. All that's left to finish is the vocals. Then the laborious task of mixing can begin. We should have a first mix to evaluate around mid-July. Both the album title and all song titles are confirmed but we won't announce them till we get closer to the release.

The artwork for the album is already done. This time we worked with Martin Hanford (Bal-Sagoth). Check out the preview below!

MARCH 2007

Folkearth news

The new Folkearth CD "By the Sword of My Father" (featuring Forefather penned track "The Lady's Gift" and contributions to 2 other tracks) is now available. The first album "A Nordic Poem" has also been re-released.

There are some mistakes in the booklet of "By the Sword of My Father". Firstly, our names are the wrong way round on the photo in the middle (the keen eyed amongst you will notice that). Secondly, Athelstan is wrongly credited for performing all the guitars on "The Lady's Gift". In fact, Wulfstan played all the guitar parts except the lead melody. Small things, but important nonetheless ;-)

MONDAY, DECEMBER 19th 2005

The Falkenbach tribute CD featuring Wulfstan's vocals on "Heathenpride" will be released on 31st December.

The Anti-Live-8 CD has been delayed. Release date unknown. Check Supernal Music updates for details.

Work on recording the 5th Forefather album has been delayed by various jobs/tasks/problems. Songwriting/arranging is almost complete and recording will begin as soon as possible.

A new Forefather Long-sleeved t-shirt has been designed and will be printed as soon as possible. Check this site and www.seven-kingdoms.com for news.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4th 2005
A new song has been recorded for the up-coming Supernal Music Anti-Live 8 compilation CD. Entitled "Loyalty Bound", it is a raw styled, epic heathen black metal track, and the guys are extremely pleased with it. The compilation is scheduled for a December release.

The final mix has been completed on the second Forefather "Folkearth" track entitled "The Lady's Gift". The release date for the second Folkearth CD entitled "By the Sword of my Father" is not yet known, but asap is the order of the day. The new track is a highly melodic, highly catchy, folk styled metal attack, with lyrics delving into ancient English mythology. Look out!
Also on the subject of Folkearth, Athelstan has contributed the clean vocals to a second Magnus Wohlfart penned track entitled "Scaldic Art". Final recording is not yet complete, but the outcome will be interesting.

In other news, the cover of Falkenbach's "Heathenpride" featuring Wulfstan's vocals has been completed. Release date (on the Falkenbach tribute CD) is unknown).
